In
order to become an electrical apprentice, you need to be at least 18 years old.
You must have either of these things – a GED or a school diploma. Not only
that, you must be physically fit and your hand-eye coordination must be very
good. One thing electricians cannot afford to be is color blind. That’s because
they have to work with many-colored wires all the time. If they cannot tell one
color from another, things could get really difficult for them. So, before
applying for the apprenticeship, it is advisable that you get your eyesight
checked for color-blindness.
If
you meet all these criteria, you are on your way to become an apprentice for electrical services in Two Rocks. You have to enroll in
a certificate program to validate your apprenticeship in the eyes of relevant
local authorities. Starting to work as a professional without obtaining the
relevant certification can be fatal for your career.
If
there is an association of electrical contractors in your area, go there. Talk
to some experienced contractors and learn the right ways to self-guide your way
to success. It takes about 4-5 years to complete an electrical apprenticeship.
This includes both class time and practice time or on-the-job training time. On
the job training involves everything from lighting installation in Two Rocks to repairing and
troubleshooting complex circuitry.
You
will have to appear for tests which will determine your theoretical knowledge
as well as practical skills. Once you have finished your apprenticeship, you
need to appear for a final test to qualify for a license.
To
be able to provide electrical services in Two Rocks as a licensed electrician,
you will need few more things such as a driver’s license because you will have
to visit your clients’ properties a lot. You must provide all the apprenticeship
details in your resume as well.
